Down 1-0 in a 5 match series and down infinity-0 over a 60 year cricketing history, Pakistani team was and is, most probably passing through the toughest of times it has ever seen.
No win to celebrate and a growing burden of match fixing allegations and under performing players can sum up more or less everything that Pakistani cricket has seen in the past year or so.
With another loss clearly in view Razzaq walked in at No. 7 when Pakistan was chasing a bulky 286 and RRR was almost 7. Razzaq and a slowish Fawad Alam built the innings to some extent by the late 30 overs, yet a win was nowhere in the picture.
However, slowly building momentum and losing partners at regular intervals Razzaq had clinched victory (by one wicket) from proteas jaws with an unbeaten 109 that included 10 sixes and 7 fours. Two of those 10 sixes and 1 four had come in the last over of the match.
A gem of an innings one that brought reasonable hopes back into Pakistani cricket and above all gave them something to cherish and cheer.
